'Sacred Connection' started from this feeling I get when I’m alone in nature and everything feels bigger than me, but also strangely closer at the same time. In that quiet way where you realise you’re part of something living, ancient and steady.

I’ve always loved fungi. There’s something about them that feels mysterious and intelligent. The way they grow quietly, the way they’re connected beneath the surface through vast underground networks, communicating and supporting one another in ways we can’t even see. That hidden connection has always felt sacred to me.

When I began painting this piece, the oversized mushrooms felt like the natural centre. I wanted them to feel powerful but gentle, like guardians of something unseen. The winding path and the stairs slowly formed as a quiet invitation, like you’ve stumbled into a place that has always existed but only reveals itself when you’re ready to notice it. The green light filtering through the forest feels soft and grounding, almost protective. 

Sacred Connection, to me, is about that unseen thread that runs beneath everything. The way nature holds itself together. The way we hold each other, often invisibly. It’s a reminder that even when we feel separate, there are roots underneath us linking us back to something bigger.

Artwork Details

Original, one-of-one artwork – this is the only piece of its kind. There are no duplicates and it will not be recreated in the same form.

Medium: gouache on canvas – created by hand using layered techniques.

Size: 12" x 14" – an intimate but impactful scale that allows the details and texture to be appreciated up close while still holding presence on a wall.

Framing: Professionally framed in a Japanese Black Ash Hand-Stained wood. The framing has been selected to complement the tones of the piece while allowing the artwork to remain the focal point.

Ready to hang: The artwork arrives fully framed with secure backing and hardware installed, so it can be placed and enjoyed immediately.

Care: This original has been sealed with a protective varnish to preserve colour and surface integrity over time. The varnish gives the piece a subtle reflective finish, meaning light may shift gently across the surface depending on its placement.

As the artwork is not framed behind glass, it is recommended to hang it away from direct sunlight and high-moisture areas to ensure longevity. Dust lightly with a soft, dry cloth if needed.

Shipping: Each original is carefully packaged with protective layers and cushioning to ensure it arrives safely. Framed artworks are boxed securely and handled with care.
